on a post somewhere, i saw reference to a group called witnesses for jesus - or witnesses reformed for jesus -or something like that.
the post mentioned that the group holds an annual conference in pa in october every year.. can anyone tell me about the group - and the actual name?
i think it sounded like it was made up of mostly ex-witnesses.. any help?.

i posed this question to my tbjw (true believer jehovah's witness) wife:.
"what if it was proved to you without a doubt (i conceded that this was not possible) that the gb had no special mandate or guidance from hs?
what if they were just like anyone else who reads the bible alot?
Check your Premises -
Don Cameron's new book - Captives of a Concept might be helpful with your wife - assuming you are interested in helping her to move out of the org. There are so many simple ways in that book to set the stage for a witness to think her/his way out of the box.

To me - CoC was the key that unlocked the door that I had bumped against in the dark. My doubts had taken me there, but without that key unlocking the final exit, I might have stumbled around not knowing how to proceed for years to come. Ray's guts in leaving all that he and I shared in believing was the final aid I needed in nailing down my thoughts and direction.
Later - Penton's historical insights made me able to see the organization in a historical model that made it easier to see how this whole messy organization got where it was.

if you are taught the jw organization is your link to god, it is so hard to think of leaving everything.
like a hole that will not be filled again, there is so horrible things that have happened in the world, could it be that there is no everlasting life for us, so many questions and to think of giving up everyone makes me sick to my stomach.
but i want to be happy and i'm not, does anyone feel empty?
Don't underestimate how long it can take, though, nor harden your mind to what twists and turns it may career through.Life is a rollercoaster, and meant for living...
Thanx for that LT - right on spot. I left with no illusion of ever going back, right at a year back. Though the doubts were festering for years before. One helpful x witness that I emailed suggested taking two years to let your mind rebound, while soaking in the facts of what you see in the organization.
It has been a year+ now, and the folks here have been a real help.
I agree with LT [at least I think he said it] - don't let God out of the picture, but stepping away from anything 'organized' has helped me. Just this week I started feeling drawn to a little country church 5 miles down the road. It may take a few more weeks, but I feel destined to draw up my courage and step thru the next phase.
This thing is a journey - not a moment. Welcome to the ride.

aloha!.
since we're going to be on big island, hilo, june-to july 10, i thought a mini aposta-hula would be in order.
i've been in contact with a few islanders, and am just developing interest.
United Kingdom, Scotland, Western Isles (Na H-Eileanan An Lar)

Where can I find a good map online to see where this place you live is at? I need a geography lesson. Is Na H-Eileanan An Lar a city or what?

All they have to do is say 'apostafest' and you are on it!!!!

well i finally have stopped to say hello.
i have been searching this site for a few months now and finding some interesting information, for now i am still a jw, confused as ever, feeling like my life is going to end and jehovah will take all the good in my life away by joining this forum.
i have so many concerns and as you all know have no one to talk to.
Welcome confusedgirl
I had great trepidation when first coming to this site. The WTS has trained us to quit thinking and just get in line. Most here did that for many moons before seeing that something was wrong. My wife were witnesses all our lives - and we are near 50 now.
We left because it was the right thing to do - not the easy thing to do.
May God bless your efforts to find real 'truth'
Jeff
Has anyone a link to the letter that was sent to the local congregations? I have seen the one sent to the Branch in UK, but never the Body of Elders letter. Surely someone has scanned and posted it somewhere.

i have not read an 'awake' magazine for a couple years, but i have the feb 8, 2005 issue in front of me.
in looking at the advertizement for the young people ask book, on the back cover, i see something that seems different from years past.
there is a coupon like they used to use in which you can put your name, address, ect.
Poztate
That was my view also. Why would manipulation of words suprize me here?
